Saddletree Ranch News & Announcements

Board Officers

According to the association's by-laws, when a director resigns the Board is required to appoint a replacement Director.  Recently Todd Resnik had to resign (due to moving out of the neighborhood).  The Board appointed Fred Hamdun as new Director to complete the term (which ends in 2013).

Therefore the current officers for the 2011-2012 fiscal year are:

  • Bill Hallett - President
  • Charlie Cupik - Vice President
  • Rob Gibbs - Treasurer
  • Adrienne Kazarian - Secretary
  • Fred Hamdun - Director
  • Debbie Schultz - Director
  • Don Wickham - Director

  • Our administrative support is provided by Mike Greer.

We thank Todd for his contribution as a Director and prior to that as a member of the ACC.

Ranch Road 12 Chip Seal Repair Concern
Many people in the area, up and down RR12 are concerned (or worse, upset) by the TxDOT use of Chip Seal, rather than Hot Mix Asphalt, to repair RR12.
There is now a web site that is dedicated to getting the road repaved with quieter, safer hot mix (like is required by the state at places like the traffic lights by the elementary school and Mercer St.).  Check out the web site by clicking here.

    Newsletter Editor Needed
We still need an editor or editors for the quarterly Saddletree Ranch newsletter.  Let Bill or any of the Board members know if you are willing and able.

    Saddletree Annual Halloween Extravaganza Success!

On October 30st, the annual Halloween Party and Hay Rides was held along with a "Motorhead" Show.

Car Show:  Thanks to Charlie Graham for coordinating, although he could not attend for personal reasons.  Rick Thompson, Gayle Bauscher and others helped out to make it a real sight to see.
Thanks to all who participated and let us look at the cars, motorcycles and even a Segway.

Party: The party was well attended and fun for all the kids.  Tracy Jennings led the effort and pulled together a great party on short notice.  Thanks to Tracy for a job well done.

    Hay Ride:
As usual Tracy Jennings got all the volunteers, the hay, trailers, drivers, etc. and pulled off the Halloween Hay Ride event.

Let both Tracy and Charlie, along with all their volunteers know how much you appreciate their efforts.

    Park Hours

Due to the occasion of vandalism at the park, especially the pavilion, the Board decided to establish "hours" for the park (that includes the tennis courts, volleyball courts, basketball courts, pavilion, play area, ball field, parking lot, lavs, etc.)

Henceforth the Park will be open and available for use by residents of Saddletree Ranch and their guests from  Sunrise until 1/2 hour after Sunset.

If a resident has a special event that requires use of the facilities outside of those hours they must request pre-approval so that we (and the sheriff's dept.) know about it.

    Clubhouse Rules

    • Turn off lights, appliances, heater/AC before leaving.
    • Close all cabinets and doors.
    • Sweep floors and clean any messes, trash, or stains.
    • Remove trash to the outside clubhouse garbage container.
    • Move furniture back to its original position.
    • Fix or replace any broken items to avoid being charged replacement and service fees for broken or missing items.
    • Lock door before leaving.
    • A $50 cleaning fee will be charged to residents that do not leave the clubhouse in the same condition prior to their event.
    • Smoking is prohibited inside or on the clubhouse porch

    Burn Bans

Watch for the Burn Ban sign near the mail kiosks if either of the counties has a burn ban in effect.

The Saddletree Ranch "Burn Ban" signs are posted any time either one or both of the counties (Hays and Travis) declare such a ban. For more information on burn bans please click on the appropriate link below.

    Safe Driving

Many residents in the neighborhood have voiced their concern regarding cars and trucks speeding through the neighborhood. Although the SR POA has no direct authority over such laws the Board took the issue to the Hays County Sheriff.

Remember that speeding within the neighborhood, especially along Saddletree Lane and in the mailbox area, is dangerous to all. Please report unsafe driving and speeding to your local authorities (county sheriff).
